SHIRAZ : May 2022

Assalamualaikum and hi readers!!

I don't even know how to start this, but here we go!

Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, haza min fadli rabbi. On 21/4/2022, finally, I am officially graduated as a medical student! It still feels so surreal to be a medical graduate when all year round, I kept questioning why the hell did I choose medicine. But the journey of course doesn't end here. It just marks the beginning of another hectic phase of life, but before it all happens, I'm gonna enjoy my freedom and stress-free life as of now. I bet there'll be multiple entries following this, since I've postponed almost every stories that I've been meaning to share but yknow, the Pro 2 exam. So, do wait for it, and let's proceed with our gigantic story (yet).

We started our final battle on 6/4/2022. I remember telling yguys that I don't do dates, because I hate numbers. But somehow Pro 2 exam dates are just too terrifying to not be remembered. So, on that day we had our short case & long case exams (which are most probably the only type of examination we've been focusing on since they're face-to-face and, who on earth are not scared of vivas?). It made me anxious way long before it even started. But, alhamdulillah, I think I did quite well, given the nervousness and of course the vast medical field, He really helped me throughout. I got an O&G case for long case. I was tremendously blessed since my last posting was O&G. And that left me with medicine-based short cases; and He blessed me with such calm examiners and simple cases. I might've not been the best performer, but I did what I could with His help. The only examination we're prepared for is then over, but wait, we're not done yet! We still have 12 OSPEs, 20 SBQs and 100 SBAs. And mind you, though technically we have to pass all semesters to get to final year, our Pro 2 exam is solely based on this 4 days assessment. There's no carry marks whatsoever from any postings/years/semesters. It's 100% based on Pro 2 exam.

OSPEs were undeniably hard, but doable, but one thing that I'd like to say it out loud is : I do have eyes!! Why do you think we say we can't see the slides? You put us at the 6th row with all the first 6 rows left empty, and then you expect us to squint our eyes and try to see what's on the projector, seriously? Do you really think we questioned the seatings because we just wanted to make you feel miserable? Duh! (mujur lah exam masa puasa, saya berlatih untuk sabar, alhamdulillah). The next theory papers are just confusing. Genuinely baffling especially SBAs. I can definitely r/o 1 answer but that left me with the other 2, and most of the times I just followed my gut feelings. But, alhamdulillah I am finally a medical graduate!!

Though I am not sure of what the future has in store for me, but all I can say right now is that I am really grateful for all who I am. And I really hope that I am able to further my studies and become a psychiatrist insyaAllah. Do keep my name in your prayers, kay? Who knows I'll become such a wonderful, cool, gorgeous psychiatrist amiinn :)))
